St Albans Splash Park
Product: Wetpour Safety Surfacing
Budget: £28,000
Brief: The project was a tender bid. The client wanted the existing splash park safety surfacing removed and replaced in time for summer opening.
The Site:
St Albans Splash Park located by the Verulanium Museum and Park.
The Challenges:
Verulamium Park is a historical site set in over 100 acres of parkland. Many archaeological objects relating to Roman life have been excavated from the grounds and are displayed in the onsite museum. This meant that no ground disturbance was allowed during the works.
As the splash park was located in a popular open space protective fencing was used to give the team a designated work space whilst still allowing access by the area for the public. Special care was taken when installing the wetpour around the sensitive water jets throughout the splash park area.
The Outcome:
The finished surface has been a success and the project completed within the proposed timescales and within budget.
