Wetpour was the perfect surface to give St Dunstan’s the wow factor with their new playground. We were able to incorporate numbers and letters with the surface as well as games and line up circles with each classrooms initials. The much loved old roadway markings were replaced with a bright track complete with zebra crossing.

Brief: To bring to life the seaside style surfacing design supplied by the Play providers. Belvedere Beach is considered a tremendous landmark locally which sits at the heart of the community. The play park was designed to be an inclusive and educational area with a contemporary and unique theme.

Surfacing Installed:
Wet pour impact absorbing play surfacing was the chosen surface. This was laid in various colours and depths around equipment to create a beach style play area in a built up part of Bexley. Graphics were included to compliment the theme with a mix of starfish, fish, crabs and seaweed.

Scope of Works:
Abacus removed the existing old wetpour surface to allow new construction of Splash Park. Abacus supplied and installed all of the Wetpour safety surfacing on site.

The Outcome:
The play area had a grand opening lead by the Mayor of Bexley and ever since has seen an influx of children who have enjoyed the new site. The combination of play with colourful surfacing has been a great success and the transformation to the site has been fantastic.
