Canvey Island Primary School – Playground Surfacing

Product: Wetpour, Bonded Rubber Mulch and Play Grass surface          

Budget: £23,000

Brief: To redevelop the old, tired reception class outdoor play space to be an all weather accessible space all year round. The client wanted to create an interesting and fun environment for the reception pupils outdoor learning whilst retaining the much loved mound and trees.

Surfacing Installed:
A variety of play surfaces were used to create the design, hard wearing and colourful wetpour, bark effect mulchbond and durable play grass surfacing giving the school a low maintenance outdoor play space.

We worked closely with the teachers to create a design that incorporated all their requirements including a mud kitchen, cycle track with parking bays and sand play area.

The Challenges:
This was a straight forward and hassle free installation as to avoid disruption to school proceeding the project was carried out during school holidays. This allowed our site preparation team full access to the area with machinery and material deliveries and gave our surfacing team uninterrupted installation time.

The Outcome:
The school were delighted with the finished project and the play space was a hit with the new Reception pupils at the start of term.
